  Prologue

It was no fucking secret that I didn’t handle my liquor well. Get me wasted and I would do shit like strip naked and start whipping my dick around like it’s those tassels strippers wear on their titties. No joke, man, it happened, for real. I was buck-ass naked, swinging my hips, my meat and potatoes on full display for a house full of college kids, both guys and girls, to see.

I even decorated myself with streamers. Who does that fucking shit? Me, drunk ass me, that’s who.

Now that shit fucking haunts me daily. A hashtag, #dicksaswinging is on every damn picture I’m in throughout every social media account. We did charitable events and they used that shit to bring in extra attention. I found dildos, tiny fake penises, and printed out pictures of cocks stuffed all over the place on most days. For my birthday, my brothers bought me a bag of dicks. Tiny ass dick candies that is, so what did I do? I sat down on the couch, turned on the ballgame, and ate every one of those little dicks by myself. I did not share.

These last few months had been a rough one on all of us. We lost a brother this year, hell, we almost lost two. Brent was killed unexpectedly in a motorcycle accident and in the aftermath, Corbin hit an ultimate low from the grief of not only being there when it happened but surviving when Brent didn’t. It ate him alive until Palmer refused to let him fade away. She was by far the best fucking thing that had ever happened to him.

I sat in the corner of the room, observing my brothers, each dancing and laughing with their girls and those single hoping to hook up. As I continued around the room, looking at each and every one of them, I took in those who didn’t belong to the fraternity.

We all needed this party, we needed a night to just let loose. It was the first since we lost Brent and his absence was felt. As I continued I saw a glimpse of red, then it was gone. Backtracking, I found it again and the gorgeous legs peeking out from beneath it too. Thin, tan, and fit, like those of a runner maybe. Continuing upward I took in the trim waist, the perfect tits, not too big but the perfect handful. The red dress hugged her perfect body and made my blood pump a little faster. Upward I went, my gaze connecting with a curious set of eyes.

She stared at me, and I couldn’t take my eyes off her either. Short brown hair, the perfect smile, though she was doing everything she could to fight it. She was losing fast.

Fuck. Why did I feel like taking in a breath was a struggle?

Pushing off the wall she was leaning on, she began walking toward me and my heart beat harder and faster.

“You’re Jay, right?” the brown-haired beauty asked when she’d finally reached me. Those fuck-me eyes she was giving me made me momentarily lose my mind. So I just nodded. Like a damn adolescent virgin boy, I nodded.

She smiled, leaned in a little closer, and shocked me to my fucking core. “My name is Ruby, and call me curious, but I was hoping you’d give me a private showing of your performance last year. Maybe without the streamers of course, I don’t really want anything to obstruct my view.”

She said this as she looked down at my cock, then to top it off she bit her lip and tilted her head just slightly. And again I was fucking speechless.

Maybe getting drunk on tequila and swinging my dick around at a party that over a hundred people were at wasn’t such a bad thing. Or was it?

  Chapter One

  Ruby

I hated being considered the good girl, it just meant when I did mess up, even in the smallest of ways, it was truly the end of the world. Or so my father would make it out to be. Straight A’s, high honors, when others were out with friends I was preparing for my next round of exams. There was never time to be a kid, never time to let go and just have fun.

Which also meant meeting guys was difficult. After all, who wanted to date the daughter of the Dean? I might as well have walked around with a bag over my head because no one ever looked my way. When they did it was only to whisper about how I was daddy’s little girl.

I hated it, truly I did.

I wanted to do something unexpected. Something that would make my father’s head spin. I wanted to feel alive, I wanted to break things and break rules. Kiss a random guy, steal something from a gas station. I wanted to feel the excitement and rush of the unacceptable.

“Daydreaming again?” I looked up from my laptop just as Darcy sat down across from me.

“What is it this time? A party you’ll never go to, a guy you’ll never talk to?”

She knew me too well. She was also the complete opposite of me.

Darcy was fearless. She never let the opinions of others keep her from doing something she wanted to. In fact it only managed to drive her further. She wanted to live. The difference is she did it, and not just thought about it.

It was always the same, the worry of what the consequences were after I’d decided to stop talking so much and start doing. The look I knew my father would give me, the disappointment in his eyes. After my mother passed more than twelve years ago, I was all he had left of her. He did his best, I know he did, but he ove
rdid it. There was never any room left to breathe.

  I needed to breathe.

“You don’t get it,” I mumbled, covering my face with my hand and trying to clear the urges from my mind.

“Believe me, I do get it.”

Lowering my hand, my stare landed on hers and a few silent seconds passed. I noticed the way she scanned the area around us. I assumed it was to ensure we were alone before she pressed on. “You’re twenty, almost twenty-one. You’re still innocent.” When she said the word innocent she widened her eyes as if it’s a terrible word. “’Your father is overbearing, and you deserve to have a life outside of him and his expectations. Living does not make you a bad person.”

“So I should sleep around and what?”

“You should get out and meet people. You are a ticking time bomb, and if you don’t spread your wings and soar you’re going to explode when you least expect it. You’re too sheltered, Ruby.” Crossing her arms over her chest, she leaned back in the chair. “Tell me I’m wrong.”

That was one thing I could not do, because she was exactly right.

“I think we need to make a bucket list.”

  “A bucket list?”

“Yes.” Leaning forward, she rested her elbows on the table and lined me up perfectly in her sight. “All the things you want to do but have been too afraid to do them.”

“This is ridiculous.” I rolled my eyes, but truth be told I was a little curious.

“Ridiculous but effective.” Pulling my bag down, she reached inside and gathered a notebook and pen. “Let’s write them down. If at the end you still feel like it’s ridiculous, then I will let it be. You can continue living your perfect little life watching everyone else around you do the things you wish you had the balls to do.”

One more thing, Darcy had also perfected the snarky bitch role.

We’d both grown up right here in Gainesville, Florida, so there was no one who knew me better. I was surprised, to be honest, that she was still such a close friend. She had her own group of friends, her own life, yet she had never pushed me aside. No, I didn’t go to the same parties, hell, I didn’t go to any parties, but we hung out. We studied together, had coffee together, and talked almost daily. I lived vicariously through her wild times only wishing that one day I would have the guts to let go and be half as adventurous as she was.

We sat in silence, almost like she was giving me the time to mull it over.

Me, with my hair styled to perfection, my pleated pants, and button up shirt. Ballet flats, clear lip gloss, and very light toned makeup. I was plain, I was invisible.

I didn’t want to be invisible.

“Heels.” A slow smile spreads out over her face just before she lifted her pen to the paper. “I want to buy a pair of heels and learn how to walk in them without falling flat on my face.”

“It just so happens that I have a closet full of them.” I looked toward the paper just as she wrote down the first item.

Rock a pair of heels like the hot girl I am.

With each entry to the list, Darcy put her own spin on it. I would probably regret this, in fact I was sure I’d feel so much shame when I was done, but I hadn’t remembered a time I’d smiled so much.

This was it, the moment of do or die. I could step up or I could continue to be invisible.

  “So about those heels…”

  Chapter Two

  Jay

I climbed into the cab of my truck and placed the key in the ignition. Firing up the engine, it purred to life. My father might be a shitty father. He might have spent ninety percent of my life vanishing for weeks at a time, but one thing was for sure, he provided financially for my sister and me. We never had to go without, we had nice clothes, nice cars, and a fully paid education. He paid for my sister’s apartment, even when she was living with her douchebag ex, and paid for everything I could want. What kids can say that they had an account that every month like clockwork their father made a hefty deposit into, no questions asked?

It would have been nice to have him around more growing up, maybe show a little interest in us and what we actually enjoyed. But after a while, a kid stops expecting a parent to care. I know Jade and I did. Instead we relied on each other, stood by each other. Our mother was just as unreliable as our father. She was on her fifth husband, and if he’s anything like the ones before, she was most likely sailing on some yacht or off in some foreign country.

I rarely touched the money my father offered, but when he showed up with a brand new Raptor, lifted and the fully loaded, I accepted. It would have been rude to decline.

My truck was my one true joy, I fucking loved it.

Shifting the truck into drive, I eased up on the brake and then I heard it. A rattle, humming vibration someplace in the cab.

Pressing the brake once more, I shifted into park and waited. Looking behind my seat, in the center console, and reaching beneath me, I still found nothing. But I could hear it. Almost like it was against metal, leaving an echoing noise.

Opening the door, I climbed out and started looking around in the cab of my truck. Under seats, in door pockets, the glove box, only to come up empty.

  Then it stopped.

Looking behind me, I honestly thought I was losing my fucking mind.

Climbing back inside the cab of my truck, I paused with my hand on the keys, listening to the silence, ensuring that the hum was truly gone. With the roar of the engine, once again the vibration began and I slammed my hand on the steering wheel. “What the fuck?”

This time I left the truck running, reached under the dash to pop the hood, and climbed out once more. This was a new truck, and if one of my brothers thought screwing with it would be a good idea I’d run over them to prove they were wrong.

  Dicks.

I’d spent more than ten minutes looking under the hood, finding nothing. The vibration was nowhere, in fact I could no longer hear it.

That was until I walked back around and stood at the driver’s side once more. It was coming from inside, and it was pulsing now.

Grabbing the mats, I tossed them to the ground, reaching beneath the seat once again. Still nothing. Rounding the back of the truck, I opened the passenger door and started doing the same. Leaning over, I placed my hand on the seat cushion, and that was when I felt it. The same pulsing sounds could be felt in the same pattern on my palm. It was in the fucking seat.

Digging out anything from the floorboard, I cleared a space to reach beneath. The pulsing stopped. “Motherfucker!” The booming of my voice echoed through the cab.

App controlled vibrator. Movement from the opposite side gained my attention and I looked up to see Corbin and Clayton standing at the edge of the road looking through now widely opened doors.

Clayton was concentrating on his phone, Corbin held an apple in his hands. Dude was always eating something.

“What’s got you in such a tizzy?”

  A tizzy?

“Your face is all flushed, almost like you are overexerting yourself. Maybe riding that high, getting real, real close, only to miss out on that moment of release.” Corbin snickered and Clay’s smile grew wider. “Are you frustrated, Jay? You look frustrated.”

I paused, taking each of them in, slowly observing their nonchalant attitude. Then it hit me. “What did you dicks do?”

“Dicks?” Corbin looked toward his brother, his brow arched in question. “As in plural?”

“Nah, he can’t handle more than one.” Clayton tapped his phone and the pulsing began once again. “He’s getting all worked up over one, I don’t want to overwhelm him.”

Following the pulsing, I hurried before the pricks decided to turn it off again. Rubberized and shifting all around beneath the brace of my seat, my fingers found the culprit. It was in there, tucked back pretty far. Almost to the point it was lost.

I pinched the tip and all at once the pulsing changed. That little bitch was bouncing around like a fucking jack rabbit.

  The twins’ l
aughter grew louder, but I refused to give them what they were looking for. Maneuvering my hand through the small space, I grabbed ahold and pulled. I heard the material of my shirt snag on something but didn’t want to pause for fear of dropping it all over again.

Once my hand emerged there, still vibrating wildly was the smallest little vibrator, curled. Bright pink with a rounded point on each end.

“The smaller end goes in the a—”

“I know where it goes, you dumb ass.”

“He said ass.” Corbin truly was the dumber of the two. It was like watching Dumb and Dumber. Lloyd, in true fucking form.

They’d somehow managed to get inside my truck, hide a God damned app controlled vibrator, and then waited for the chance to torture me. I wasn’t sure they would ever grow the fuck up.

  Chapter Three

  Ruby

  1. Rock a pair of heels like the hot girl I am.

  2. Get my girlie bits waxed.

  3. Share my red lipstick with a gorgeous guy. (That means kiss him)

  4. Skip class, because I’m hung over.

  5. Forego panties and go dancing in a short dress.

  6. Give my number to a random guy.

  7. Pick out my favorite nail polish and forget it landed in my handbag while tossing it in the cart. (Shh, it’s not stealing if it’s an accident.)

  8. Get a tattoo in a secret hidden location.

  9. Pierce something, like a nipple or a further south region.

  10. Cash in my innocence to a well-endowed peer.

“Um,” I stared at the list Darcy had given me, my eyes roaming over it again and again.

“What?” I lowered the paper just enough to look over it and see her offering me her best impression of the innocent look. It looked more like she’d stubbed her toe and was trying not to scream outward.
